Congressional School is seeks an Administrative Assistant to work part-time in our Little School. The hours for this job are Monday-Friday, 7:00 am - 12:30 pm.
As the first point of contact providing customer service to faculty, staff, students, parents, grandparents, vendors, and other external parties, the Administrative Assistant must be friendly, outgoing and truly enjoy interacting with people. This is a high profile, customer service position, and the Administrative Assistant must always act in a courteous and professional manner and dress accordingly. The Administrative Assistant will handle all aspects of front desk management and security. In addition, the Administrative Assistant may provide administrative support to faculty and staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Acts as first contact person, via phones and greeting parents/visitors to the school.
Screen visitors using the RAPTOR system.
Receives all incoming calls and directs as appropriate.
Sorts and distributes mail.
Early Childhood daily attendance – entering data in Whipple Hill and forwarding to appropriate personnel.
Provide admin support to faculty and staff, Early Childhood Coordinator and the Director of Early Childhood and Primary School.
Performs specific functions related to medical emergencies, security, and crisis management codes and systems.
Maintain strict confidentiality regarding children and their families.
Be trained in First Aid & CPR Certification
Willing to obtain Medical Administration Training (MAT)
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Early Childhood & Primary School
High School diploma required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Minimum two years administrative experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Demonstrates ability to multi-task
Exceptional customer service skills
Strong initiative and organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
An ability to work in a joyful, collegial and collaborative environment
