The Northwest School seeks an Assistant or Associate Director of Admissions to serve a critical role in the Admissions department. This position collaborates with the Director of Admissions and Enrollment in management of student recruitment efforts and application process for 6-12. The title of Assistant or Associate is dependent upon the incumbents skills and experience.
Interview prospective students and their families
Evaluate several hundred applications and render admission recommendations
Plan and execute outreach with various stakeholders, including school visits, fairs, individual meetings
Manage the student and parent ambassador programs
Build and maintain a robust list of parent volunteers
Use demographic and market studies to plan strategically for outreach and recruitment efforts in order to increase applicant pool
Serve as the school representative at admissions events including, but not limited, to fairs, open houses, and tours as needed
Lead the Admissions Committee through file review and decision-making process
Support Director of Admissions and Enrollment in the coordination of the admissions calendar
Work closely with Division Directors, Registrar, and other key offices to assure a smooth transition for prospective families
Contribute to the publications that are part of the recruitment and admissions efforts including, but not limited to, the viewbook, electronic publications, special handouts, and promotions for admissions events
Maintain a thorough understanding of the admissions database, Ravenna, to assist with reporting and data analysis
Participate in school-wide events and activities as appropriate
Keep abreast of enrollment management strategies and trends by attending professional development conferences and workshops
All candidates must demonstrate a commitment to the schools mission, values, and philosophy, especially related to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and environmental sustainability.
A bachelor's degree and 2 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability manage sensitive personal and institutional knowledge in a highly confidential manner
Fluency in Microsoft applications and Google applications required.
Self-starter who has the capacity to plan, execute, and evaluate enrollment plans
Ability to collaborate well in a school setting, building a positive, productive, welcoming team environment
Three years of experience in an independent school admissions office
Experience with Ravenna preferred
