Poly Prep seeks applicants for the position of Middle and Upper School Librarian. The position requires knowledge of and/or practice in developing LibGuides, Follett Destiny, and database instruction and acquisition. The desired candidate will possess a passion for teaching and learning; enthusiasm for working with students, families and colleagues; and flexibility and a sense of humor. Qualified applicants will have strong written and oral communication skills, a willingness to use library resources technologies, a commitment to professional development, and proven success and desire to work in a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will hold an MA or other advanced degree in a relevant area. The time frame for the position is from August 26, 2019-March 2, 2020 and will be part time Monday through Friday (approximately five hours a day). This position will be eligible for benefits (medical, dental, vision).

Collaboration with the Library Services Department in maintaining a diverse and well-rounded collection for faculty and students.
Collaboration with academic departments to support classroom curricula through information literacy instruction.
Willingness to meet with students on an individual basis.
Support for library events (including but not limited to author and speaker visits).
Assume role as an advisor for a group of students (7-10).
Attendance at community events throughout the school year.
Attendance and engagement in meetings during and after the school day including but not limited to department, committee, and divisional meetings.
