Sidwell Friends School, a coeducational Quaker day school with campuses in Northwest Washington, D.C. and Bethesda, MD is seeking part-time Staff Assistants for the After School program located in our Middle School in Northwest D.C.
We are looking for energetic and flexible people who enjoy working with children and who can begin working in the 2019-2020 school year.
The position involves working with middle school age children, in Grades 5-8, during after school hours of 3:30 - 6:00 P.M. & Tuesdays 2:00 - 6:00 P.M.
The daily schedule involves greeting students during their arrival, tracking attendance, allowing for recreational and snack time before one hour of supervised study hall. After study hall, students have additional recreational time until pick up.
Staff Assistants are responsible for supervising students, assisting with homework, monitoring snack time and helping create an environment conducive for academic and social success. Flexible days and hours are available.
Requirements: Must be at least 21 and have experience supervising children preferably in a camp or after school setting. You will also be required to complete our Employment Application and if extended an offer of employment, will also be subject to a full criminal background check.
