The Baldwin School of P.R. is the premier independent, PPK-12, college preparatory, English language day school in Puerto Rico. It is also the first school authorized as an International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Program (PYP), Middle Years Program (MYP), and Diploma Program (DP) in the island’s history.
The OECC Teacher Assistant will serve as a faculty member for a full twelve-month period. Teacher Assistants must be on duty at the school on all designated school days, orientations days and teacher workdays.
Assisting the classroom teacher in achieving the goals of the instructional program for their grade level for PPK through K as assigned.
Teacher Assistants may be responsible receiving children during arrival and for assisting the teacher in preparing the children for dismissal.
Assisting the teacher at snack and lunch times.
Preparing materials for instruction as needed.
Assisting the teacher in room decorations and general organization.
Assisting the Teacher in class, reinforcing skills taught by the teacher.
Responsible for small group instruction with the Teacher providing the lesson plan and content and assisting in ensuring that students are mastering the skills being taught.
Accompanying the children when they attend specialty classes and assisting the specialty teacher, PE, Art, Computer, Music, Librarian, etc. as needed.
Responsible for the digital portfolio and other technology in the classroom
Must possess a demonstrated enthusiasm about assisting students of different cultures and levels who possess a range of abilities and learning styles.
Ability to work in groups/ team teaching.
The position requires energy, creativity, organization, and a strong commitment to a lively community of students and educators.
Possess a demonstrated commitment to the School's Mission, Vision, Pedagogy, professional development goals and overall educational goals.
Demonstrated professionalism through timeliness, attendance, proper attire, language, demeanor, intra-school communications, etc.
