Carolina Day School seeks an innovative, dynamic, and compassionate academic leader for our Lower School division of approximately 210 students and 30 faculty and staff members. The position will officially begin July 1, 2020.
The Lower School principal works in partnership with the school’s leadership team to develop and align strategic goals and a vision for the future, as per the school’s Mission Statement and nine core beliefs. We seek a collaborative learner and leader, passionate about elementary-age students, excited about and supportive of our mission and culture, who is adept at leading a group of dedicated teachers with the ultimate goal of preparing our students “to make a meaningful difference in the world.” Find out more about the Lower School at CDS.
The ideal candidate will have a successful track record as an independent school educator. This candidate will be:
an instructional leader who is
well-versed in current educational pedagogy and innovative program design;
skilled and experienced in furthering teacher professional growth and development;
a promoter of developing a strong curriculum and skills for success; and
knowledgeable of diverse learning styles and learning profiles.

collaborates with admission and marketing departments on special Lower School events and open houses; and
works effectively with the school’s leadership team, especially in regard to attracting and retaining quality teachers, staff, and students.
