St. Anne’s School of Annapolis (SASA) seeks an exceptional educational leader to become its next Head of School beginning July 1, 2020. SASA is an independent, coeducational, Episcopal day school serving 230 students in our Program for Twos through Eighth Grade. Founded in 1992 as a preschool and kindergarten, St. Anne’s School of Annapolis has thrived, drawing students from a wide geographic area that includes Anne Arundel County, the Eastern Shore, Prince George’s County, and Southern Maryland. Experience, Skills, and Knowledge:
At least five years of senior administrative and management experience in an educational setting; prior experience as a classroom teacher in preschool, elementary and/or middle school is desired.
Broad and deep knowledge of child and adolescent development, leading practices in teaching and learning, and an understanding of current research and thinking in education.
Experience working with students with a range of learning styles.
The ability to set and articulate clear goals and priorities.
Strong business and financial judgment and the ability to partner with administrators and governance leaders in establishing and honing multi-pronged approaches to financial sustainability.
The ability to communicate the story of an institution to both current and prospective constituents in order to support marketing, admissions, and fundraising efforts.
A deep understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion, skill in growing and supporting programs and practices that are culturally responsive, and a recognition of one’s own identities and biases and how they may impact one’s perspectives and actions.
