The Emerson Waldorf School in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, is seeking College Counselor for a 12-hour a week position, beginning immediately and continuing through the 2019-2020 school year.
The College Counselor offers a field of expertise that provides college and career guidance for 9th – 12th-grade students and their parents, working in close collaboration with class teachers and advisors to support the needs of each high school student.
The College Counselor will report directly to the HS Chair with ultimate responsibility to the Leadership Team.
Counsel students and parents through the college process
Works with 12th-grade students through the end of their application process
Helps 11th students begin the college discernment process
Establish and maintain relationships with colleges and universities
Other possible responsibilities:
Supervise students working in classrooms
Support standardized testing for the high school, including NC Department of Non-Public Instruction compliance and administration of the PSAT
Work with Outreach and Admissions Director to maintain current HS guidance information on the EWS website and other publicity.
Minimum 3 years of experience in College Counseling and/or College Admissions preferred
