The assistant athletic trainer/ equipment manager will be supervised by the head athletic trainer. Job responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following items listed below:
Tends to the training and rehabilitation need of student athletes including but not limited to regular taping of athletes, oversight of icing and whirlpool regiments, and implementing physical therapy regiment prescribed by off campus physical therapists.
Establishes and maintains a day time rehabilitation program for students during free periods.
Communicates with head athletic trainer and coaches about injured student’s progress and readiness to play.
Serves as on-site trainer for all home athletic contests, on our fields, courts or ice hockey rink.
Maintains the order, cleanliness and a safety of the strength conditioning training room and equipment therein.
Takes yearly inventory of all uniforms and sports equipment.
Distributes and collects all uniforms and school owned equipment by the team at the start and end of each season.
Throughout the season, launders the uniforms before each game.
