The Baldwin School is seeking a long-term Substitute Teacher for the Pre-Kindergarten program, beginning mid-October. This assignment will last until approximately mid-February, 2020. Responsibilities include working collaboratively with the Pre-Kindergarten Assistant Teacher to plan and implement a well-designed program that will nurture students socially, emotionally and academically. Job duties may include but are not limited to:
Planning, designing, and implementing curriculum in partnership with Pre-K Assistant Teacher.
Providing whole class, small group and individual instruction in the classroom.
Effectively communicating with parents and other constituents.
Fostering a positive and nurturing learning environment for young learners.
Collaborating with other teachers to develop an interdisciplinary, project-based health and wellness unit.
Assisting students at lunchtime in the classroom.
Helping maintain a clean and organized classroom space.
Performing car and bus duty.
Attending faculty meetings, parent conferences and other school events, as required.
Other duties, as assigned.
Minimum requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in early childhood or elementary education. Advanced degree preferred.
2-4 years of classroom teaching experience preferably in Pre-K or Kindergarten.
Strong collaborative and communicative skills.
