Germantown Friends School seeks an articulate, personable and efficient professional to provide administrative support in the Lower School Office. Strong interpersonal and time-management skills are a must, as this individual will serve as the point-of-contact for many constituencies (visitors, parents, teachers, students etc.). This person will report to the Director of Lower School.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: answering the phone, greeting visitors, maintaining transportation, attendance, and academic records, organizing parent-teacher conference days, and processing supply orders. We seek an individual committed to creating efficiency and continuity, and contributing to the smooth operation of our office and division in the long-term.
Qualified candidates should have knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Applications, Doodle Poll, and experience with data management, preferably Veracross. Previous independent school experience is a plus, as is a comfort interacting with lower-school-aged children. Candidates must have good writing and communication skills, a gracious phone manner, be highly organized and graceful under pressure. A high degree of discretion dealing with confidential information is required.
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Relevant employment history, preferably in a school setting
Highly organized, self-starter, capable of working independently
Flexible thinker with a warm, friendly personality
Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
This is a non-exempt, twelve-month position, eligible for benefits, with hours from 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.
