Saint Edmond’s Academy seeks an Accountant to work in the Business Office.
This is a full-time position with a desired start date of October 1, 2019. The Accountant is responsible for all accounting activities and will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer in the day-to-day financial operations of the school. They will be a key player in the development and implementation of all financial reporting, policies, procedures and controls. The salary for this position will be commensurate with their experience and qualifications.

Responsible for processing accounts payable including review of invoices, cutting checks and working directly with vendors
Responsible for processing payroll with outside vendor for Chief Financial Officer review. Review the benefit vendor reconciliations.
Prepare journal entries for Chief Financial Officer review
Responsible for maintenance and reconciliation of accounts receivable balances
Responsible for bank deposits
Responsible for monthly close of books, drafting monthly financial statements and all month-end reconciliations
Preparation of weekly cash report for review of Chief Financial Officer Oversee all accounts, the general ledger and reporting systems for compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements
Implement and enhance internal controls and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, program budgets and actual expenditures
Meet all benchmarks for school reporting requirements, including monthly, quarterly and annual needs
Work directly with the Development Office on any grants or fundraising reports as needed
Record investment activity in general ledger and prepare summary report for Chief Financial Officer
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required and 2-4 years of relevant experience
Experience in Quickbooks and Financial Edge (Blackbaud) is preferred, but not
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Systems, specifically Excel
Ability to manage multiple tasks at one time
Highly-motivated and self-directed learner with a “whatever it takes” attitude
A professional attention to detail and a commitment to making deadlines
Willing to approach role and tasks with a commitment to the mission of the Academy
Strong ability and desire to work as part of a team
Salary is commensurate with experience.
