The Upper School Admission Associate is part of the Admission team of CESJDS. The position reports directly to and is supervised and evaluated by the Director of Upper School Admission. The primary role of the Associate is to manage and further develop relationships with schools and prospective parents to increase awareness of CESJDS and the recruitment of new students in grades 6-12. The Associate will also support other Admission efforts at CESJDS. As a member of Admission team, the Associate is expected to role model professional practices, values, and mission of the School within the context of a pluralistic Jewish community.
Duties and Responsibilities
Work with the Director of Upper School Admission to determine strategies and tactics to reach underserved market segments.
Develop relationships with new feeder schools by setting up meetings, sharing information, and determining mutually beneficial programming.
Cultivate relationships with current feeder schools and work with these schools to determine the most effective ways to reach prospective parents.
Research area schools to find new and effective feeder schools for Middle School, High School and lateral entry students.
Manage CESJDS presence at Jewish community events in greater DC area through grassroots organization and strategic calendar and relationship management.
Plan and implement recruitment events.
Events for parents and students, grades 6-12
Recruitment events at area schools ending in 6th and 8th grade to reach prospective parents
Events with area schools to highlight CESJDS curriculum and extra-curricular offerings such as arts, STEM and athletics programs
Assist with communications, marketing and materials for all events.
Manage RSVP list and nametags for recruitment events.
Work in close conjunction with entire Admission team, including Director of Enrollment Management & Tuition Assistance, Directors of Admission (Upper School and Lower School), and Enrollment Coordinator.
Manage and maintain applicant material and data using a variety of database and student management systems
Plan and implement student shadow day visits by coordinating class schedules, student hosts, teachers, and admission committee members
Other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Upper School Admission.
Bachelor’s degree required
Proficiency in MS Office Suite and database management
Ability to establish and maintain positive, professional, and cooperative working relationships with faculty, staff, parents and the School community.
Skill in setting priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities.
Program development and event planning experience a plus
Exercise discretion, confidentiality and initiative.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge of Jewish day schools and the local Jewish community preferred but not required.
