TITLE OF POSITION: HIGH SCHOOL MATH TEACHER (PART-TIME)
STATUS: PART-TIME Monday Friday 9am-12pm
Bachelor's degree in math or special education from accredited school required
Must have a valid teacher certification in the state of Missouri 9th through 12th grade Math and/or Special Education.
Ability to teach basic Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 Topics in the high school setting.
Experience teaching students with learning challenges preferred.
Experience with co-teaching model preferred.
REPORTS TO: Head of School, Miriam Academy
PAY: Based upon years of experience and education
The Math Teacher provides instruction and assistance with Algebra 1 and Fundamentals of Algebra 2. Must feel comfortable communicating with the school staff as well as parents and be able to work independently.
To provide a comprehensive and professional assessment of each child's weaknesses and strengths as they relate to Math and adapt lessons to meet their needs.
To develop appropriate goals to access the general education curriculum.
The ability to work as part of an educational team and establish rapport with school staff.
Builds collaborative relationships with parents and students through regular communication.
Conducts, develops, and informs students of reasonable rules concerning classroom procedures and behavior and maintains a safe and orderly classroom environment.
Recognizes the special needs of students with learning challenges and makes appropriate accommodations as needed.
Any other duties as specified by the supervisor and/or school staff.
