Sidwell Friends School seeks a long-term substitute for our 2nd grade classroom, beginning in October. The elementary program at Sidwell is designed to foster a lifelong love of learning, build critical skills and habits of mind and bring our Quaker values of stewardship, kindness, peace, integrity and community to life.
The ideal candidate will have a strong elementary education background. The candidate should have a collaborative spirit, an interest in building community within and beyond the classroom, a strong commitment to nurturing children’s individual talents and passions, and a commitment to our Quaker values. Additional duties include collaboration with the 2nd grade team, recess and lunch duties, weekly staff meetings, etc. The position begins as soon as possible.
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in elementary education
Lower School Teaching Experience
This is a full-time substitute position, 8:00 am- 4:00 pm.
