Dana Hall School seeks candidates for the position of Student Information Systems (SIS) Database Manager. DanaConnect is the School’s authoritative Blackbaud student information system that provides critical data in support of the smooth functioning of the organization. The individual in this position will be accountable for:
Working collaboratively with the Dana Hall community to ensure the ongoing maintenance of accurate information within DanaConnect
Importing, managing, and entering data in DanaConnect related to students in grades 5-12
Acting as the DanaConnect support specialist in order to provide all users with an effective and efficient user experience
Providing DanaConnect support for families regarding access, including usernames, passwords
Troubleshooting problems with DanaConnect and working with others to resolve them
Writing and maintaining DanaConnect standard operating procedures, training, and FAQ documentation to provide to others, as needed
Surveying, supporting, and educating users and departments across campus to improve their experience with and develop their use of DanaConnect
Serving on the Tech Working Group and Campus Data Group, interdepartmental teams working collaboratively to foster and support the use of technology at Dana Hall
Managing and implementing master rollover each academic year (terms, grade plans, report cards, classes, student promotions, etc.)
Managing, creating, disseminating, and ensuring accuracy of lists within DanaConnect for multiple users, including for Pushpage distribution
Collaborating with the Admission Office to integrate new student and new parent records into DanaConnect
Facilitating Advisor Letters, Progress Reports, Grades and Comments with others by updating internal calendars, setting up Grade Plans and Report Cards, and providing Status Emails
Managing the Grading Process within DanaConnect with others by monitoring faculty submissions, tracking missing grades and comments, preparing proofing materials, opening and closing grade views
Overseeing the import of scheduling data from Education Edge to DanaConnect
Managing user profile changes, entering dorm assignments and accommodation codes, and facilitating Fitness/Athletics course requests
Keeping current with relevant Blackbaud product enhancements and ongoing developments
Candidates must have: a bachelor’s degree; work experience in data management; technical knowledge of data management systems and processes; and experience with Blackbaud solutions.
Successful candidates will possess: excellent problem-solving, technology, and customer service skills; superior time-management skills with an ability to manage many tasks and projects simultaneously, while adhering to deadlines and maintaining quality work products; excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail and an ability to create effective action plans to meet goals; effective communication skills, both orally and in writing; an ability to communicate complex issues, as well as to maintain open communication channels with relevant stakeholders in an active school environment. Candidates must be able to remain seated for extended periods of time.
This is a twelve-month, full-time position reporting to the Director of Information Systems.
