The Elisabeth Morrow School, a three-year-old through eighth-grade independent school in Englewood, NJ, seeks a Chief Strategy Assistant to directly support the Head of School. This is a new position that will report to the head of school starting November 1, 2019. This position is responsible for providing support to the Head of School and for ensuring the smooth operation of her office. This involves performing a wide variety of executive, and administrative duties. The Chief Strategy Assistant represents the Head’s Office to the School’s constituents at the request of the Head of School.
Specific responsibilities include:
Schedule appointments and maintain Head’s calendar.
Screen Head of School’s mail, e-mail, voice mail and appointments using judgment and knowledge; route people and correspondence to the Head’s senior staff for attention.
Initiate and prepare correspondence for Head’s signature.
Make travel arrangements for the Head of School, and as necessary, visitors
Establish office procedures and systems.
Draft reports and meeting minutes on behalf of Head.
Provide support to the Board of Trustees, including schedule and attend committee meetings as requested, maintain board and committee rosters, prepare agendas and supporting material, and maintain documentation.
Coordinate certain all-school events.
Maintain databases and Excel spreadsheets for professional development, faculty/staff contracts, and other projects.
Organize and maintain meticulous files for Head’s office.
Undertake special projects as requested by Head.

Bachelor’s degree required
Experience working in an educational institution preferred
Proficiency with Word, Excel, and Powerpoint required
