Calvert School, an independent lower and middle school, has an immediate need for a Communications Specialist. Calvert School is dedicated to educating girls and boys through its time-tested method of teaching and its rigorous curriculum. Particular emphasis is given to mastering essential skills, inspiring a lifelong love of learning, and instilling enthusiasm, responsibility and self-discipline. Calvert School is located in Tuscany-Canterbury, a residential neighborhood in Baltimore City, just north of Johns Hopkins University and south of Loyola University Maryland, accessible from Charles Street and I-83.
The Communication Specialist will work under the direction of the Marketing and Communication Manager. The Specialist will assist the Manager in providing strategic leadership and vision in all areas of marketing and communications and will assist with the oversight of the School’s brand management to ensure consistency.
Responsibilities will include the following:
Manage the School’s social media and website and will create, manage, and facilitate school-wide communications.
Serves as the School’s primary writer and editor and will oversee and manage all school communications to all constituents.
Write original content for website, social media posts, newsletters, publications, and other marketing content based on interviews with internal and external constituents.
Create and send market-specific email campaigns to promote Calvert School.
The ideal candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree with two to four years of related experience. Below a list of skills required:
Advanced knowledge of social media platforms and a social media strategy.
Strong writing, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Must have a proven track record managing editorial demands and tight deadlines within a fast-paced organization.
HTML knowledge is preferred.
Skills in Blackbaud, Adobe InDesign and Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Premiere are a plus.
