Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School (HIES) is seeking a long-term Middle School French and English Substitute Teacher. HIES is the largest Episcopal Parish day school in the country, offering a fully accredited college preparatory program for students age three through 12th grade. HIES is located north of downtown Atlanta between I-75 and GA 400.
This is an interim position, beginning at or near January 6, 2020 and continuing through May 22, 2020.
Skills and Abilities
Experience teaching French and English in grades 6-8.
Excellent organization, presentation and communication skills.
Strong classroom management skills.
Commitment to collaboration and team teaching across disciplines
Instruct five sections of French and English classes in grades 6-8.
Deliver lesson plans and monitor student performance.
Collaborate with colleagues to enhance instructional activities and environment, particularly in the foreign language department
Update and maintain student academic records and performance metrics
Communicate regularly with parents, students and colleagues regarding student progress.
Educational and Other Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in education preferred. Prior experience teaching foreign languages required.
Certification is not required for substitutes teachers but would be requested in the event of continued employment.
Successful completion of pre-employment background screening, drug testing and safety training required.
