Crossroads School Theatre Department seeks a dynamic part-time Upper School Acting Teacher from January-June, 2020. The teacher will be responsible for teaching a Courses Theatre 2 (10th grade) course and an elective course in acting techniques (11th and 12th grade) as part of the Drama Conservatory program.
The Theatre 2 course provides students with specific tools for:
The development of character
Creation of subtext and the preparation and performance of monologues and scenes.
Work on basic audition skills
Proper use of voice and physicality
The Drama Conservatory program continues the student’s development as an artist; the course work will include:
Character development and performance skills
Critique from peers and instructor
Guided self-evaluation to help the student accurately self-assess.
In addition to teaching responsibilities, this position may include directing a production with rehearsals scheduled for after school and a performance slated for the late February.
BA or BFA in Theatre or related field;
Experience working with high school actors
Attendance at monthly departmental meetings
Good communication skills and an open, collaborative nature.
