The full-time faculty member is hired by the Principal and reports additionally to the Department Chair and Dean of Faculty.
Teaching competitive policy debate and/or public forum debate to grades 7-12
Teach 1-2 intro to debate courses in Term 1, 1-2 advanced debate courses in Term 2 and 3.
Teach 2-3 content area courses in Terms 1-3; content area TBD based on candidate experience
Assisting the development of high school debaters through:
Holding practices after school 2-3 times a week
Traveling to local, regional and national competitions with the high school team serving as a primary chaperone, judge, and coach to 15 tournaments a season
Research and serve as a primary strategy coach
Assisting the development of middle school debaters through:
Teaching middle school debate courses
Hosting middle school debate scrimmages
Traveling with Middle School students to local tournaments
Assisting the Director of Debate with hosting tournaments on campus
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in education or in the primary teaching area is required. A Master's degree is preferred. Transcripts must be submitted.
Teaching experience in a Catholic or an independent school is preferred.
A minimum of two (2) references.
