This is a full-time, interim position for the remainder of the current school year. The teacher who is hired for this position will also have the opportunity to be a candidate in our search for a long-term hire for the 2020-2021 school year, which will take place this spring of 2020.
All teachers at Dunn work closely with their peers in a collaborative, cooperative, college-preparatory academic environment. As a full-time classroom teacher, you will be responsible for teaching five sections of Chemistry in our STEM Department. The teaching load currently consists of three sections of 10th-grade Chemistry, one Advanced section of 10th-grade Chemistry, and one section of Advanced Chemistry for 11th-grade students who have already completed the 10th-grade Chemistry course. Experience with or knowledge of the AP Chemistry exam will be beneficial, but is not a prerequisite. You will also be involved with other facets of the Dunn School boarding community such as coaching, advising, and residential duties.

Roles and Responsibilities
Teach 5 sections of Chemistry including one section of Advanced-level Chemistry
Teach 1-2 Wednesday afternoon enrichment classes
Coach 1 season of after-school athletics or activities
Residential duty in the dormitories (2-3 nights/month Sunday-Thursday)
Weekend duty (approximately five weekend duty shifts and five Friday night duty shifts)
Student advisor (4-6 students)
Participation in the Dunn School Leadership Program
Other duties and roles to be determined

Chemistry teaching experience (certification is not required) in a 9th- through 12th-grade educational environment
