St. Francis Episcopal School, Houston, is currently seeking an inspirational early childhood professional to lead the Primary School division, effective July 1, 2020. Located on the school’s south campus, the division is housed in a new facility designed to enhance the program for over 200 students, ages 2-5. Established in 1952, St. Francis Episcopal School is a mission of St. Francis Episcopal Church.
The Primary School is known for its Reggio-inspired approach, School of Literacy and Culture partnership with Rice University, emergent curriculum, and project approach to learning. Robust professional development experiences, both internally and externally, and a well-established teacher mentoring program, support faculty growth. We have a strong image of the child as a capable, competent, and resilient problem solver. We honor the thoughts and ideas of our students and believe that children’s natural curiosity and sense of wonder are nourished when adults view themselves as co-learners.
The ideal candidate will join a passionate, talented team of early childhood professionals committed to supporting children in all domains of development in the joyful journey of childhood.
St. Francis desires an energetic, creative, innovative, and growth-minded thought leader with strong communication skills. An appreciation for parent involvement in the program is a core value of our Reggio-inspired philosophy.
