The Director of Enrollment Management oversees and directs the admission and enrollment program to achieve and maintain the school’s enrollment goals in support of the school’s mission and vision.
The individual is responsible for leading an admission team and requires sensitivity to economic, cultural and other issues present in the enrollment of a diverse student body. This individual will ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness throughout the recruitment and enrollment process, accounting for attrition while analyzing trends to track and leverage data to drive enrollment decision-making. Working in collaboration with the advancement and communication departments, the Director of Enrollment Management will develop and implement a strategic communication and marketing plan to raise the visibility of the school for both enrollment and fundraising. The Director of Enrollment Management is a critical member of the Leadership Team reporting to the Head of School.
Recruitment, New Family Engagement, and Retention
Implements a strategic recruitment plan to bring prospective students to the school. These include all campus visit opportunities, community outreach events, and on-campus specialized programs.
Represents Friends Academy at NAIS, NYSAIS and Friends Council on Education; Conveys the school’s mission to prospective families and the external community.
Examines and fosters relationships with feeder schools and broadens reach in surrounding communities.
Partners with Student Life Team to ensure personalized outreach and ongoing attention for current students and families.
Maintains past, current and future enrollment statistics for internal forecasting and reporting. Ensures admission and recruitment records are securely maintained.
Maintains, analyzes, and makes decisions based on statistical and trend data related to admission, enrollment, and financial aid.
Evaluates recruiting and admission initiatives; provides summaries to Leadership Team as requested, and makes necessary adjustments.
Educates the Leadership Team and Board of Trustees about current research, demographics, and admission and enrollment trends, ensuring that changes and challenges are anticipated and addressed.
Brand Alignment and Management
Understands reputation management, internal and external perceptions of the school and drives admission strategy accordingly.
Maintains a close, collaborative relationship with the marketing and communications team to ensure brand alignment for internal and external communications.
In conjunction with the Director of Finance, Operations and Strategic Initiatives, and the Head of School, the Director of Enrollment Management serves on the Financial Aid Committee and coordinates all aspects of the financial aid process including, but not limited to, performing needs analysis, adjustments to aid awards as needed, all contacts with current and prospective financial aid students and families.
Education:Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Education, Public Relations or another related field. Master’s degree a plus.
Requires a minimum of five years of independent school experience
Fluent with database management software preferred
Knowledge of theory and practice of admissions/enrollment management
Ability to understand changing market demands and adapt processes accordingly

Demonstrates data-driven analysis and decision making
Comfortable with technologies that support student record management, analytical reporting, office operations, and social media
