The St. Mark’s School of Texas seeks an experienced educator to join our Lower School faculty beginning in the 2020-2021 school year.  A strong candidate will be a compassionate teacher with knowledge and understanding of the development of young boys along with the experience and background to teach upper elementary mathematics.  Candidates should have excellent written and oral communication skills, be organized and punctual, and be a positive team-player.  St. Mark’s is a vibrant learning community, and successful candidates will be generative in their thinking about teaching and learning, will enjoy working with young boys, and will seek to collaborate with colleagues, share teaching resources, and contribute to the wider school community in a myriad of ways.  Character and leadership education for all boys is a deep commitment at St. Mark’s.  We have a well-developed program that spans grades one through twelve.  Successful candidates will have interest in this aspect of our program and will place equal priority on the character development and intellectual development of our students.

Responsibilities

• Teach fourth-grade mathematics
• Supervise and guide homeroom students
• Communicate regularly with parents about student progress
• Work with team to organize and orchestrate field trip(s) that correlate with curriculum
• Participate in the character and leadership education program
