Summary

The Assistant Director of Residential Life & Middle School/High School Teacher will be responsible for teaching two to three classes and assisting with the running, management, and overall development of the residential/student-life program.  They will report to the Principal and to the Dean of Students and will work closely with fellow faculty members, administration, coaches, and staff to support student academic growth, wellness, and overall achievement in line with the mission and standards of Weil Academy. This is a full-time, live-in position.

 Responsibilities

      Middle School/High School Teacher

• Teach three classes: A combination of math classes (Pre-Algebra through Geometry), science classes (Life Science through Earth Science), social studies classes (Geography through World History).
• Attend weekly Teacher Meetings and bi-weekly All-School Assemblies
• Hold weekly evening Office Hours
• Provide educational guidance and support for a group of Student Advisees
• Other duties as assigned by the Principal

     Assistant Director of Residential Life

• Assist with the daily running and operations of the Weil dormitories
  • On-duty in the dormitory 3 evenings per week and 2 weekends per month on a rotating basis with other residential staff members
  • Part of rotation for morning, lunch, and afternoon on-call duty
• Live in single bedroom in residential apartment attached to the Boys Dormitory
• Lead the Student Activities program (Planning, organizing, and leading)
• Lead and manage the student chore program
• Cultivate a residential community where students can thrive academically & personally
• Assist Dean of Students in management of the Student Captain’s Program
• Write Residential Life section for monthly newsletter
• Assist with parent communication
• Assist in managing student discipline
• Assist the Dean of Students with the development of the residential life program
• Other duties as assigned by the Dean of Students
