The Part-Time Lower School Learning Specialist works closely with the Lower School Principal, Full Time Learning Specialist, additional support team members, and teachers to support students in grades 3 and 4. This role includes, but is not limited to:

• co-teaching literacy, reading and writing skills with children in small push-in and/or pull-out groups  

• working with students one-on-one 

• providing specially designed instruction to assist students in the acquisition of skills and knowledge at Tier 1, 2 & 3 of Response to Intervention (RTI)

• working and consulting with classroom teachers and the leadership team in support of students with learning disabilities

• participating in various meetings (CSE Meetings, parent conferences, weekly Child Study team meetings, in-service training for teachers, etc.)

• utilizing researched-based knowledge and programs such as the Wilson Program

A successful candidate will have experience as a learning specialist or in a related field, is collaborative and confident working in a high-performing environment.  In addition, we seek candidates active and up to date with best practice in teaching and learning.
