| Position Purpose: Preschool faculty members inspire curiosity, engagement and leadership to create transformative experiences for young children. Faculty inspire students to learn and build community, as they foster curiosity and engagement, as well as develop character and leadership skills through play. Faculty members will employ, whenever possible, experiential education within place-based contexts and aspire to the Reggio Emilia approach. The Preschool team will build strong relationships with colleagues, students, and families. Within the collaborative work environment of TSS, faculty members should expect to be contributing team members, while also taking the initiative to work autonomously. Responsibilities: 60% Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment • Develop and document curriculum within subject discipline • Maintain updated curriculum and assessment information on google drive • Create and maintain a safe and loving environment • Differentiate curriculum and assessment per student needs • Creating Daily Doc 1-2/week • Create portfolio documentation • Posting On-going documentation • Document Final Projects • Participate in all Preschool events • Plan journeys into the community • Maintain STARS hrs and certifications 20% Advisory • Act as advisor for 10-12 students • Organize children's work in portfolios • Communicate with parents about student successes, challenges and other updates • Participate and prepare for parent teacher conferences • Check-in with all advisee families regularly throughout the year • Address any developmental concerns with division level heads and determine how to best support the child and their family. 15% Team member • Collaborate on integrated projects and intentions • Complete all assigned duties • Support coverage for afterschool care, as needed and appropriate, as part of the regular work week • Take part in weekly faculty meetings • Take part in pre-service and in-service professional development, including professional learning communities • Take part in parent and informational meetings • Participate in all-school meetings • Align with team culture and goals • Support administrative duties associated with successful implementation of program 5% One TSS Responsibilities • Engage and collaborates across TSS program areas when possible • Further development of practice and implementation of place based education pedagogies. • Proactively and positively shares the TSS mission and program structure with external stakeholders • Contribute to inclusive work and learning environments through continually developing cultural competency.
