Job Description: Spanish, French and Chinese Teachers About Tessa International School At Tessa International School (Tessa), we provide a bilingual world-class education, based on the most successful international models. Our international educators flourish by sharing, investigating and adapting the best educational practices worldwide to our students. We emphasize the social emotional development of children in conjunction with a strong academic curriculum. Tessa is opening its two-year-old nursery program in February ,2021, to join our early childhood through grade 3 classes, and is adding a grade each year until grade 5. We have 3 language tracks and anticipate several ongoing openings. From Nursery through Kindergarten, children learn 80% of the time in the target languages and 20% of the time in English. Starting in grade 1, children learn 50% of the time in the target languages and 50% in English. Job Summary Reporting to the Head of Teaching and Learning, the Spanish, French and Chinese teachers are responsible for planning and developing lessons reflecting best practices, providing student support, collaborating with colleagues, supervisors, and students to build a connected and positive learning environment, within a bilingual, global curriculum. - Contribute to a climate of respect and understanding amongst faculty and staff, students, and parents.
- Represent Tessa in a manner that reflects the Mission and the Core Beliefs of Learning.
- Plan and implement clear, well-thought-out lesson plans that connect in-class learning to concepts and real-world situations and generate enthusiasm and academic excellence in the classroom.
- Use a variety of developmentally appropriate instructional and assessment methods to meet the needs of all learners and provide varied forms of feedback on learning.
- Monitor the academic, personal, emotional, and social progress of students.
- Use technology purposefully in the classroom to enhance learning and to provide information and feedback to students and parents.
- Establish and maintain standards of student behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere.
- Practice regular, punctual attendance of instructional periods.
- Ensure the digital safety of students, following Digital Community and Zoom protocols and guidelines
- Communicate in a timely, clear, and effective manner with students, parents, and colleagues, informally and formally.
- Demonstrate a willingness to be available to students within contractual hours in addition to instructional time.
- Prepare adequately for responsibilities to be assumed when absent.
- Fulfill regular administrative tasks, such as timely completion and correction of attendance.
- Engage with students, colleagues, and parents to foster a sense of community.
- Work with colleagues, management, and staff in a constructive, collaborative, and cooperative manner.
- Actively seek opportunities for professional growth.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
