Essential Job Responsibilities: Typical job responsibilities of a St. Andrew's teacher include the following: - Three or four class sections;
- Two seasons of athletic coaching or two seasons of a major, non-athletic extracurricular program;
- Dormitory duty once or twice a week;
- Weekend duty once every three weekends;
- Participation in school committees and activities.
Job Qualifications: St. Andrew's Modern Languages Department is seeking an experienced, dynamic, creative, and collaborative teacher of French. The candidate must exhibit a high level of French proficiency in all of the modalities of the language—speaking, listening, reading, and writing. They should have the ability to comprehend contemporary media in the foreign language, both oral and written. The teacher should have a profound understanding of the social, political, historical, and economic realities of the Francophone world, as well as experience in using online resources and other technology to enhance teaching. The candidate should show a lively interest in current pedagogy and scholarship, an ongoing commitment to continuing to develop their own cultural competence, and a deep dedication to meeting the needs of diverse student learners.
