The Gooden School, Sierra Madre, California Fifth Grade General Studies Lead Teacher Position 2020-21 School Year The Gooden School is an independent Episcopal K-8 school set in the foothills of Sierra Madre. We seek an enthusiastic, committed, and creative individual to serve as a Lead Teacher in our fifth-grade general studies program. The successful candidate will teach all general studies content areas (language arts, math, social studies) in a fifth-grade classroom. This educator will work closely with the other members of the Upper Elementary Division (third through fifth grades) to plan and deliver innovative, high quality, and engaging instructional units. During the 2020-21 school year, The Gooden School may be offering in-person and/or distance learning, online instruction. Candidates should be prepared to offer an engaging curriculum both in-person and through Zoom and Google Classroom. Responsibilities -Plan and deliver innovative, high quality instructional units aligned with common core math, language arts, and history standards. -Collaborate with colleagues in the Upper Elementary Division to develop teaching and learning in all curricular areas. -Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners. -Attend and actively participate in all faculty meetings. -Participate in special school events including, but not limited to, Open House, Back to School Night, and special student performances. -Chaperone overnight grade level field trips. Required Experience/Education: -Four-year degree from a college or university. -Valid teacher credential and/or previous teaching experience preferred.
