Responsibilities for Lower School Strings Faculty

• Teach Suzuki violin and cello to students as assigned by the division head.
• Create and execute a student showcase for Christmas and the end of the year.
• Facilitate one season of after school activities.
• Serve on a dorm team if living on campus.
• Participate in all required meetings.
• Perform other supervisory duties as required of all Lower School teachers: lunch, recess, chapel, and morning/afternoon supervision.
• Communicate with families about student progress.

Skills and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Classroom teaching experience (preferred).
• Suzuki training (preferred).
• Ability to accompany on the piano (preferred).
• Possess a sound understanding of the developmental stages of lower school students.
• Ability and willingness to facilitate differentiated, student-centered best practices.
• Willingness to collaborate with a variety of specialized providers on the student support team.
• Possess an understanding of classroom management techniques and best practices with young children. 
• The candidate should be organized and able to manage a series of student information platforms and systems, including: Blackbaud, Gmail, and Google environment.
