From K – 12, technology is an integral part of learning. At Punahou School, the Information Technology (IT) department strives to create an environment where access to and support for digital information, tools, devices and rich learning opportunities are fully integrated throughout the K – grade 12 environment. The IT team designs, builds, maintains and enhances technology for students and staff enabling them to effectively utilize current and emerging technologies as tools for effective learning. The Senior IT Systems Administrator will build and support solutions for effective usage and management of an enterprise computing environment through the evaluation, configuration, documentation and maintenance of computer applications, utilities, interfaces, databases and operating system software used by Punahou School. The Senior IT Systems Administrator will be responsible for managing a broad array of Blackbaud K-12 (formerly Whipplehill) systems. Primary responsibilities will include maintaining / supporting K-12 Core, Student Information System (SIS) and Learning Management System (LMS). Secondary duties may include Blackbaud Enrollment Management System (EMS), Admission, School Website System (SWS), Smart Tuition, Smart Aid, and Financial Edge. The Senior IT Systems Administrator assists in support activities as an escalation point for other IT teams on problems and projects related to Blackbaud applications, interfaces, and databases. This role will operate as a single contributor or as part of a team (on large complex projects with multiple stakeholders), to interpret and translate client requirements into application solutions that align with information technology standards. They will also build, support and maintain support documents, standard operating procedures and policies related to the School’s use of Blackbaud solutions. The Senior IT System Administrator duties are, as detailed in this document include: - Deep understanding of Blackbaud (Whipplehill) application administration with a strong focus on K-12 Core, SIS and LMS
- Deep understanding of LMS scheduling tool as well as integration with third party scheduling software
- Experience with manipulating, extracting and loading data files associated with Blackbaud applications
- Experience with secondary Blackbaud applications: EMS, SWS, Smart Tuition, Smart Aid and Financial Edge
- Understanding and experience with general information systems such as active directory
- Advanced scripting principles and experience
- Active participation in the Blackbaud Community
