Job Title: Middle School Virtual Learning Math & Science Teacher Type: Part-time position Supervisor: Assistant Head of School for Faculty Growth & Student Development FLSA: Exempt (Hourly) General Job Description: St. Anne’s Episcopal School in Middletown, Delaware seeks a spirited and talented individual who enjoys working with middle school students and has 3-5 years of teaching experience. Our teachers focus on the intellectual, social, physical, artistic, and spiritual growth of each child to create a learning environment where each student is known, loved, challenged, and inspired. Job Responsibilities: - Teach middle school mathematics, including Algebra I, with a focus on building critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
- Differentiate instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of students with varying abilities, attitudes, and cultural backgrounds
- Understand the fundamental developmental stages in the social, emotional, and academic lives of middle school students
- Establish and maintain standards of student behavior that is aligned with our core values: respect, responsibility, and compassion
- Communicate with parents on student progress
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, faculty, and staff
- Provide 7 hours of live science instruction a week.
- Provide 3 days of asynchronous science assignments for 5th, 6th, & 8th grades
- Provide 5 hours of live math instruction
- Daily asynchronous math assignments to be assigned for completion after the live instruction.
- Process grades and feedback for progress reports and report cards
