Position: St. Paul Academy and Summit School seeks candidates for the position of Lower School Spanish Teacher. Position Begins: mid-August 2021 Status: Full-time, Exempt Department: Instructional Faculty, Lower School Position Description: Candidates should possess the ability to teach young children Spanish language and culture, providing an immersive experience in the target language through multi-modal, differentiated, and responsive instruction. In addition, candidates should demonstrate the ability to create developmentally appropriate curricula, establish a nurturing and engaging classroom environment for all students, and work collaboratively with a teaching partner, various colleagues, and parents/guardians. Candidates should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrate strength in the integration of technology to enhance Spanish instruction, and apply knowledge regarding best instructional practices in teaching world languages. Candidates are expected to carry out the mission of SPA, "shaping the minds and hearts of the people who will change the world," to support the vision of the Lower School and to contribute to the life of the school outside of the classroom. Requirements: BA degree required. Preferred qualifications include native or near-native fluency in Spanish, a Master’s degree in World Language Education, Spanish or other related field.
