Seeking an experienced, innovative, effective communicator that is fluent/literate in Spanish and English to teach the current 5th-8th grade elective courses beginning January 5, 2021. This involves helping students communicate and understand the Spanish language, including encouraging students to practice vocabularies they have learned and assist them in accurately listening, speaking, writing and reading Spanish. Techniques such as role-playing, dialogue, language games, literature, film, and other formal exercises are commonly utilized. The middle school Spanish teacher supports the current Senderos and Asi Se Dice curriculum used as well as the Cross Schools curriculum map. This curriculum focuses on a whole-language approach and supports all aspects of learning Spanish and Latin culture and includes engaging technology components. This position reports to the Principal. Salary is based on degree level, up to a Master’s Degree and years of K-12 teaching experience. Jobs and Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: -Report to work from 7:50AM-4:00PM, Monday - Friday and per the current 2020-21 school calendar to teach grades 5-8, 45-minute semester long classes at each grade level. -Fulfill daily homeroom duties (including leading pledges, prayer, and devotion), lunch duty, and afternoon carpool duty. -Conducting an after school club of choice (3:30-4:00) for a short time during the semester -Acting as a liaison for spanish-speaking families, when necessary, but not outside the working hours of 7:50AM-4:00PM -Other duties as assigned
