Our STEM teacher will work with students to support our school’s efforts to adopt best STEM practices and be able to design, develop, assess, and manage STEAM learning experiences. We are looking for a professional who can help design contemporary/progressive curriculum, especially in computer science, design thinking, engineering, robotics, machine thinking, and who can help us further our efforts to integrate the use of technology in pedagogy. Approximately half the position will be math or science, and the other half computer science/engineering depending on the education, experience, and interest of the teacher. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead by influence are important skills to help Applewild increase its inquiry-based, student-centered, interdisciplinary learning environment. Willingness to participate in professional learning committees, advising, and coaching is desired. A Master’s degree in a field in, or closely related to science, technology, engineering, or mathematics is preferred. Prior independent school teaching experience, and a background and experience to teach in several disciplines within STEM and/or maker space experience, are preferred.
