Greens Farms Academy seeks a Middle School English teacher to fill a temporary long-term substitute position from as early as February through the end of the school year in June of 2021. The course load will consist of 4 sections of 8th grade English and other duties as a Middle School faculty member such as advising students and covering study halls. The ideal candidate will have experience working with young people, an undergraduate or graduate degree in English or a related field, a student-centered approach, deep and diverse literary interests, and a passion for working with middle school students. Experience working with young learners in athletic programs, summer camps, or other extracurricular activities would also be an asset for this position.

The long-term substitute teacher will join a thriving and experienced 5th-12th grade English department of 12 faculty members committed to discussion-based classes, textual analysis, a process approach to writing, and support for students as they publish and perform their work.
