Millbrook School seeks a Senior Associate Director of Admission. The primary goal of the Admission Office is to enroll students and families who share Millbrook School’s mission and values and will continue to propel the institution forward through their association with the School. One of the most tangible ways the admission office achieves this goal is by increasing the volume of qualified and diverse applicants who ultimately choose Millbrook. This role requires a passion for working with adolescents and familiarity with boarding school communities. The Associate must have outstanding interpersonal skills, a captivating presence with prospective families, and strong written and oral communication skills. The Associate should be highly organized, proactive, and ambitious. Millbrook’s Admission Office is a dynamic and collaborative team that holds high expectations for itself. Being a member of this team will offer mentorship, professional development, and experiences that will translate to opportunities throughout the independent school industry. The Senior Associate Director of Admission should approach daily admission work with a strategic mindset. They should look for opportunities to enhance Millbrook’s current admission process and build upon existing programs while collaborating with the rest of the team. The Associate should have significant experience with their daily responsibilities: interviewing prospective families, representing the School while traveling off-campus for receptions, admission fairs, industry conferences, and meeting with consultants and feeder schools across the country and abroad. The Senior Associate Director of Admission should also be ready to manage on campus admission efforts at a leadership level. This includes organizing and attending on-campus events, managing research and communications projects, and making admission decisions as a part of the admission committee. Interest in increasing the diversity of Millbrook’s student body through an inclusive admission process is a must. Previous experience recruiting international students or working in financial aid is a bonus. The Senior Associate Director of Admission will be a full-time member of the Millbrook School faculty and will report to the Director of Admission. The Associate will also serve as a member of the residential life team, an athletic coach (or supervisor of equivalent extracurricular offerings), and advisor to current students. Candidates should have a college degree and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, preferably in an admission setting. Millbrook School is eager to consider applications from groups traditionally underrepresented in independent school communities. As an equal opportunity employer, Millbrook School does not discriminate in hiring or employment on the basis of race, color, religion, creed, national origin, citizenship status, sex, age, marital status, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local law. Moreover, Millbrook School recognizes the value of a diverse faculty and staff, and actively seeks candidates from a wide variety of backgrounds. Please send statement of interest and resume to Meghan Grover, Director of Admission, and Jonathan Downs, Headmaster-Elect, to the admission office at mfarrington@millbrook.org. |
