Details Posted: January 8, 2021 Location: Hamden, Connecticut Show Map Type: Full Time - Administration Category: Development/Fund Raising The Director of Annual Giving is responsible for the strategic vision, direction, and management of this non-profit educational institutions Annual Fund and other fundraising activities. This position manages each phase of the Annual Fund Campaign and coordinates strategies to achieve increasing levels of unrestricted support among all key constituencies. Additionally, the Director of Annual Giving leads the Annual Fund Volunteer Team as well as parent Auction volunteers. This position reports to the Director of Institutional Advancement. Major Functions and Responsibilities Develop, manage, and implement an annual fund development plan including goals, objectives, and tasks for the Annual Fund program Develop and manage relationships with Alumnaeand class agents. Actively identify, cultivate, and solicit Annual Fund donors Collaborate with the Director of Institutional Advancement to set Annual Fund goals, strategies, timetable, and segmentations Effectively recruit, engage, and traina team of Annual Fund volunteers Oversee all aspects of the Annual Fund: solicitations and mailings, progress reports, analysis, and acknowledgments; coordinate Annual Fund appeals and other fundraising collateral for consistent branding and messaging Maintain complete and timely records of contacts with prospects and volunteers Work closely with the Director of Institutional Advancement to manageotherannual fundraising events (e.g. auction, golf outing) Prepare regular fundraising and statistical reports Manage a prospect pool with annual goals for personal visits and advancing relationships Attend on- and off-campus events as necessary Meet additional development and school responsibilities as assigned Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 years related fundraising experience, with a track record of success in annual giving, preferably in an independent school Proven ability to build relationships with donors, volunteers, colleagues, and other key constituents Detail-oriented and analytical Resourceful, enthusiastic, team player with the ability to use good judgment and communicate effectively Goal-oriented self-starter who can work under the pressure of short-term deadlines, while not losing sight of long-term strategic goals and objectives Creative and innovative thinker who has the ability to react and adapt to changing situations appropriately Excellent organizational, written, verbal, and interpersonal skills Strong technology skills, including proficiency in Microsoft products, creating and manipulating spreadsheets, preference will be given to candidates with fluency in Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge software Ability to maintain confidentiality as appropriate Expected to model and encourage an atmosphere in keeping with goals and mission of the school The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
