Headwaters School, a Pre-K through grade 12 independent day school, serving 450 students across its three campuses in Austin, TX, is seeking an Elementary School Director for the 2021-2022 academic year. Beginning with a Montessori foundation and progressing to the International Baccalaureate® (IB) Diploma Programme, we are inspired, organized, and guided by our Purpose, Promise, and PACT. The Elementary School Director reports directly to the Head of School and works closely with the Elementary School Learning Specialist, Campus Manager, Middle School Director, the Admissions Office and Business Office. The Elementary Director also serves on the Senior Leadership Team and leads the elementary school faculty. Our ideal candidate will have significant Montessori teaching experience, a Bachelor’s degree, a Master’s degree, Montessori certification and administrative experience. Additionally, we are seeking candidates who appreciate and understand the developmental period known as middle childhood. In addition to teaching experience, the successful candidate will need to possess the following attributes: flexibility, resourcefulness, and playfulness.
