· The Upper School Learning Specialist holds a vital role in daily support of Upper School student, faculty, and parent communities. · Working within the Upper School and Learning Support team settings, this role functions collaboratively, with respect and confidentiality. · This position supports students with approved learning plans through meetings as needed between parents, students, and teachers, serves as a resource for Form Deans and class advisors, attends Guidance Team and other administrative meetings, and provides a presence and support within the classroom setting. · The Learning Specialist maintains current understanding and proficiency with assistive technologies that promote brain-compatible learning. · At Hockaday, a full-time faculty position is comprised of teaching, serving as an advisor/support for students and participation in school-based activities, as requested. · Abiding by Hockaday’s Code of Ethics and Conduct · Committing to the ideals expressed in Hockaday’s Tenets of Faculty Excellence · Other duties as assigned |
