St. Andrew's Episcopal School is seeking an innovative Middle School Science teacher for a full-time, permanent position starting August 2021 at our 31st Street campus in Austin, Texas. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree or higher in science, engineering, or other STEAM field, several years of teaching experience, excellent character, a collaborative orientation, and a passion for teaching middle school science. St. Andrew’s increasingly utilizes an interconnective curriculum in which students apply skills and knowledge across the disciplines of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math. The ideal candidate should be able to delve deeply into these disciplines and how they can be used to solve real-world problems by providing students with exciting opportunities for exploration and hands-on activities such as Project-Based instruction and other forms of student-centered learning. Additionally, candidates should possess strong technology integration skills, and be adept in science lab management protocols and safety. This full-time position will involve teaching four sections of middle school science, serving as an adviser, overseeing student field work, and additional duties such as on-campus supervision, or supervising a student organization/club. Prior experience with social emotional learning curricula is ideal. Salary will be based on the candidate's experience and qualifications.
