Details Posted: January 14, 2021 Location: Sherman Oaks, California Show Map Salary: Based on education and experie Type: Contract - Faculty Categories: English/Language Arts, History/Social Studies Broad Function Teach Humanities (combination of Language Arts and History) curriculum to students in the middle school (6-8th) grades. Primary Responsibilities: include but are not limited to: Prepare and implement lesson plans in accordance with grade mapping Provide a positive and safe environment for students physically and emotionally that reflects effective classroom management strategies Support students’ social-emotional and identity development through consistent and effective classroom practices Understand and respond to individual students’ learning interests, strengths and needs Complete in a timely manner all student forms, grade reporting, and other “paperwork” required by the school Provide recess and lunchroom supervision Provide carpool supervision Provide classroom substitution as needed Other duties as assigned by supervisor Extra Curricular Responsibilities: Participate in extracurricular events as assigned and designated by the Head of School and/or the Principal. These events may include: Shabbatonim and Retreats; Staff Meetings; Open House; Student Performances, on and off campus; Parent Meetings; Holiday Workshops; School Trips; and Day/Overnight trips Requirements: Teaching Credentials Master degree (desired) 2-3 years middle school teaching experience in the humanities Strong written and oral communication skills Proficient in Google Suite and other educational technology platforms NOTES: Additional Salary Information: 403b, Healthcare (medical, dental and vision), supplemental healthcare (AFLAC), Life and AD&D, Disability and paid holidays, PTO and Sick leave.
