Southern Teachers is assisting Carrollwood Day School (CDS) in its search for an individual who is a dynamic and energetic educator, a proven administrator, and an innovative leader to promote the Upper School’s continued growth.  This person must possess the skills to interact effectively with students, teachers, staff members, and parents in a diverse and fast-paced environment.  The Upper School’s next leader will be a collaborative team builder with an educational philosophy consistent with the mission of CDS and extensive knowledge of educational trends.

An independent day school founded in 1982 as a preschool in a storefront space, Carrollwood Day School now spans two campuses serving more than 1,000 students, age two–grade 12.  CDS is a full access IB World School offering the PYP-MYP-DP continuum of IB programmes to all students in preschool through upper school and graduated its first class in 2009.  CDS continues to honor and celebrate the foundation of the school culture at all levels: Education with Character.  CDS is committed to a sense of community, to preserving childhood for its children, and to all the practices that make Carrollwood Day School a caring and supportive learning environment.  As an IB World School, CDS develops both performance and moral character through the model of the IB Learner Profile and IB Attitudes. 

Known for excellence in academics with an emphasis on character education, CDS is one of only three secondary schools in Florida to be both an IB and Cum Laude Society School and has gained national recognition as a National School of Character (2003 and 2017), a No Child Left Behind Blue Ribbon School of Excellence (2004) and “A Caring School” by Making Caring Common, a project of the Harvard Graduate School of Education (2017).  In 2020, CDS was recognized by the National Consortium for Entrepreneurial Education as an Entrepreneurial School.
