Buffalo Seminary is seeking an experienced camp director for our summer day camp for the Summer of 2021, which serves girls entering grades 4-9. Summer@SEM has a decades-long history of providing a wide variety of fun, enriching, and non-competitive camp experiences which allows campers safe independence, to create friendships, relax and play on our beautiful historic campus in Buffalo, and develop the confidence that comes with an all-girl environment. The Summer at SEM Day Camp Director reports directly to the Head of School and is responsible for management and oversight of all aspects of the summer camp including, but not limited to budgeting, development and scheduling program content, recruiting, hiring, and training of faculty and staff, enrollment of campers, and day-to-day operations during the summer. The Director works with the Communications Director at SEM to develop promotional campaigns and materials and with the Admission Team -- as happy SEM campers make prospective Buffalo Seminary high school students. The position entails approximately 1 day per week of work from January through May and is full-time when camp is in session. Applicants should have leadership experience in an educational setting, a camp, or other youth-focused programs, supervisory and hiring experience, excellent organizational skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, children, and families, and has an understanding of the needs of girls age 9-14. Housing can be provided for the Director while camp is in session. Ideally, the Camp Director is tech-literate and/or has experience with Campium software. |
