The Laurel School of Princeton is conveniently located in Hopewell, NJ, conveniently located just off of I-295. We serve children in grades 1 – 12 who have dyslexia and other learning differences such as dyscalculia and dysgraphia. This school, the newest part of The Newgrange School of Princeton, Inc. celebrates the strengths and talents of students with dyslexia and related learning challenges. The Newgrange School of Princeton, Inc. is a non-profit organization founded in 1977 and devoted to educational services for children with learning differences. The Laurel School is an extension of that mission. It was inspired by a substantial body of research conducted under former Executive Director, Dr. Gordon Sherman.
Our theme – Celebrating Cerebrodiversity – stems from his work. We believe that our world moves forward because of the unique nature of our brains. Applied to dyslexia, we believe students with dyslexia can contribute extraordinary gifts to our world when they are provided with a properly enriched learning environment. With the Laurel School, we are pursuing that goal with a focus on young learners.
