Germantown Academy, located in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania, is seeking qualified, experienced candidates for a full-time position of Middle School History Teacher to start in August 2021. This is a 10-month position which offers an excellent array of benefits and a highly competitive salary. The Academy, founded in 1759, is a non-sectarian, coeducational, college preparatory school of more than 1,100 students in Grades PK-12, located in the northwest suburbs of Philadelphia on a campus of 126 acres. Qualified applicants will meet the following criteria: - BA in history or related; Master’s degree history, education, or related field strongly preferred
- Experience teaching Middle School; experience teaching a range of history topics preferred
- Ability to employ varied methods of instruction and assessment and to integrate new skills and innovative methodologies in the classroom
- Ability to serve as an Advisor to 10-12 Middle School students
- Participation in Middle School life in meaningful ways outside the classroom (coaching, leading extracurricular activities, etc.) strongly preferred
