Aidan Montessori School in Washington, DC is seeking a full-time Montessori-trained lead teacher for one of our lower elementary classrooms to substitute for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year. Duties include managing the well-established distance learning plan, teaching students through in-person learning, and leading a hybrid model at times. Candidates must be a Montessori-trained lead guide with teaching experience at the elementary level. Recent Montessori graduates with limited experience will also be considered. Montessori teachers with AMI and AMS diplomas preferred.

This is a full-time, fully-benefitted, long term substitute position with on-site hours from 7:45 AM to 4:00 PM daily.  Substitute will assist the children in a prepared Montessori environment in accordance with Montessori guidelines, philosophy, pedagogy and methods appropriate for the particular age group to which they are assigned while following the School’s guidelines regarding COVID-19. When not substituting, other duties may include parent communications, parent-teacher conferences, making materials, supporting our distance learning program and/or supervising small groups of children on an as needed basis.

This is a temporary. long-term substitute position that extends to the end of the school year. Subsequent employment is not guaranteed, but possible.
