The ideal candidate: *is a growth minded educator with an advanced degree in education, media literacy, or library science or the equivalent experience.* demonstrates experience cultivating community connections and facilitating students experiences beyond the school walls.* possesses experience in or a strong desire to lead service learning programming.* possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with students and colleagues. Responsibilities of the position include:1. Supporting student and faculty research for papers, projects and curriculum development.2. Partnering with teachers to cultivate media literacy and use of technology in research.a. Coordinate with the director of STEM to create opportunities for the Maker Space to be utilized as collaborative work space for all disciplines.3. Coordinating community connectionsa. Oversee service for grades 6-12; plan and carry out service for grades 9-12; work with faculty on service learning curriculum.b. Coordinate with Alumni Engagement to connect Upper School students with off campus opportunities: summer programs, leadership workshops, internships and service.4. Partnering with faculty and students in cultivating equity, inclusion, and global competencies in curriculum, projects, and community outreach.5. Coordinating staffing and managing the library.a. Organize and train teaching fellows to help supervise the library and maker space.b. Coordinate responsibilities of volunteers.c. Redesign the library space as a quiet study and work space.i. Reframe the balance of print and digital resources.ii. Create calm space for reading, focused quiet study for students, faculty and staff.d. Create lively, collaborative space in the Science & Innovation Center’s maker space.e. Coordinate space with college counseling to create research, learning commons.f. Oversee the library budget.6. Teach one class as fitting to their academic background.
